Kneehill County is proud to highlight the Agripreneurs and Businesses that make our community great.
Country Roads Farm and Bakery is a short drive east of Three Hills. Andrew and Suzanne Kirk’s dream initially began on Andrew’s family farm and further grew with Suzanne’s dream of owning and operating a store and bakery.
In 2021 an existing garage was converted into a bakery with a small store where one can shop for home décor or gift items. In the summer an area for sitting is provided; with a busy farm, there is always a ton of activity to take in. Suzanne’s main focus is her bakery which offers fresh bread, baking, pies and freezer meals. The products are made without preservatives and can be pre-ordered in bulk for events. One of her stars is her sourdough bread made from a starter which has been living for years and is fermented at least 12 hours prior to baking. The outcome is truly irresistable!
Andrew and Suzanne are both very busy with their active family, running a farm, and the business. However, they never forget the community which they love and any extra products from their bakery are donated to the local food banks. They also participate in local fundraisers for schools and clubs.
What will be new for 2023? Customers can look forward to a new type of freezer meal packaged in recyclable containers which can go directly from the freezer to the the oven or microwave. Different sizes of these meals will be offered to allow a quick meal for student lunches as well. A variety of options can be viewed on their website, which is filled with beautiful photos of Suzanne’s creations. Custom orders can also be completed through the website.
When asked what one piece of advice they would have for other Agripreneurs, Suzanne says, “stay true to your values and give your customers the best products you can”; truly their customers can attest to this as they keep returning.
