Update, May 4, 2022, 4:00 PM:

Both rounds of water sampling taken from Mount Vernon and Equity Water Systems have passed all AHS parameters, and the water has been deemed safe to drink.

  • Read instructions from the manufacturer on how to flush, clean, and sanitize containers that protect and store drinking water (called cisterns), water filters, and ice and water dispensers.
  • Drain and refill hot water tanks that are set below 45º C.
  • Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle (see the instructions from the manufacturer.)
