Route 304

Kneehill County is proud to highlight the Agripreneurs and Businesses that make our community great.

Brandon & Danielle Toews are a young couple with a lifetime of agriculture experience.

As third-generation farmers/ranchers who grew up breathing country air and eating wholesome pasture-raised beef, Brandon and Danielle learned the value of knowing where their food comes from and wanted to share that experience with their neighbours and friends. They accomplished this in 2019 with the launch of Route 304 Cattle Co., providing farm-to-table sales to consumers in Kneehill County and throughout Central Alberta.

The ranch is a labour of love that keeps them both busy, “We have a lot of responsibilities in our work—we’re marketers, animal nutritionists, veterinarians, financial planners, and workflow coordinators,” says Brandon. “I’m the president of the company and the lowest guy at the same time. Today I was a trucker and took a load of cows we were selling to a feedlot an hour away."

Evenings, weekends, and "free time" is often spent checking cattle, fences, water supply, or moving cattle with rotational grazing methods, and using horses and dogs for low-stress cattle handling.

Brandon and Danielle use regenerative farming practices to provide a variety of nutrient-dense meats that can be eaten without worrying about the risk of potential additives. Their beef is butchered regularly throughout the year in an inspected & licensed facility where it is dry-aged for 21 days to produce optimal flavour and tenderness. A variety of cuts and packages are available as well as jerky and beef sticks.

In addition to pasture-raised beef, Route 304 Cattle Co. also produces chicken, pork, and free-run eggs with no added growth hormones or unnecessary antibiotics in any of their products. The Triple Smoke line of blends and spices can also be purchased to accent your selected cut of meat.

Customers can pick up at the farm or conveniently order through the online store. A variety of delivery options are available including FREE home delivery in Kneehill County on orders over $100 or FREE delivery within the town of Linden. See their website for details.

With BBQ season upon us, contact Route 304 Cattle Co. today for a taste of local, pasture-raised beef, chicken, or pork.
