Alberta currently has the unique status of being “Rat-Free” but this doesn’t mean that it is impossible for rats to survive here. This status is maintained through a rigorous control program headed by Alberta Agriculture and Forestry. When an infestation is found the rats are isolated and eradicated through proven control methods.
In order to locate infestations, the Alberta Rat Control program relies on reports from Alberta citizens. If you see or catch a rat please call 310-RATS (7287) or the Kneehill County Office to report.
DO NOT BRING SPECIMENS TO THE MUNICIPAL OFFICE FOR IDENTIFICATION.
