Do I need to get a dog/cat license?
A dog license is needed only if you reside within a hamlet in Kneehill County. You need to come into the office to fill out some paperwork. There is no charge to get your first tag, but if your animal looses the initial tag there is a two dollar charge. There is no cat licensing requirement.
When will I receive my utility bill (water and/or sewer) and how can payment be made?
Torrington, Wimborne, Swalwell, Linden North, and Selkirk (when it’s up and running) will be biiled every other month August, October, December, February, etc…. And Huxley, Equity, Gamble, Churchill, Mt. Vernon and Grainger/Hesketh are opposite months July, September, November, January, etc…. Payments can be made online, telephone payments, cash, cheque or debit.

Depending on the bank that you use our Utility and Tax roll numbers are too long. With utilities take a zero from the ending few numbers (for example if 9875005 is your utility account number you would use 987505. For the tax roll numbers you take one to two zero's off the end depending on the amount of numbers that your bank requires.
Where can I dispose of my “energy efficient light bulbs”?}
According to project Porchlight Alberta the following are places in Kneehill County where the CFL bulbs may be recycled: Three Hills Recycling Depot at 319 – 1st Avenue S.W., Linden Transfer Site, N.W. 19-30-25-W4 (one mile west of Linden) and the Torrington Transfer Site, S.W. 20-32-26-W4 (3 miles west and 3 miles south of Torrington). They may also be dropped off free of charge for recycling at Home Depot, Rona and Ikea stores.

What is the TIPP program?
TIPP stands for Tax Installment Payment Plan. This plan allows you to equalize your property taxes over 12 months (January to December). How do I get on to the TIPP Program? To enroll in this program you have to sign a bank withdrawal authorization, have a VOID check and bring your tax balance up to date.
