WSA Gamble Rural Distribution Line
Project Objective: To develop a safe, reliable and assuredsupply of portable water at a reasonable cost for Kneehill County residents.
Council approved an aggressive time frame to service ourrural residents in South region of the County. After extensive amounts ofresearch and testing, we have found that there are quality and quantity issueswith the wells in this area of Kneehill.
Kneehill County Council felt this was a good opportunity toservice these areas due to the fact that there had been a regional pipelinerunning through our County which we are a members of. Portions of the water inthis regional pipeline are dedicated to our Kneehill County residents.
Kneehill County Council was also willing to tender the entiresouth region in one tender to have this project completed quickly. The Provinceand consultants talked us out of this strategy due to the size of the projectand the availability of contractors in Alberta at the time. Council has stillapproached this project in a aggressive time frame with a three phase strategy.The first tender went out late 2007 with construction in the spring of 2008,the second phase of WSA Distribution Line is scheduled to go out in the Spring2008 with construction in 2008-2009, and the third phase is scheduled to go outin the Fall of 2008 with construction in 2009.
At present the tenders are out for the WSA Phase 1 Reservoirand Distribution Line.

Kneehill County has installed a digital panel at the HuxleyBulk Fill Station. In order to use this panel you need to set up an Accountwith Kneehill County Operations Department. You will receive a Account Numberand Password and from there you will receive a monthly bill. This eliminatesthe need to carry coins to the Huxley Bulk Fill Station.
Kneehill County’s goal is to have all Bulk Fill stationsequipped with a digital panel system. Once you have an Account set up you willbe able to access any bulk fill location with a digital panel in the County.
